Back to firewall groups

In here, an arbitrary amount of hosts can be defined over their MAC or IP addresses to accommodate them in a firewall group. The defined hosts can be summarize with further networks or other hosts over the section Network/Host Groups, so they can be grouped and firewalled togehter over the "add/edit rule:" menu.

FIXME fwgroups screenshoot

  • Name: - The name of the hosts can be chosen freely, but should refer to a unique assignment because it will be used in the selection menu of the firewall for further usage.
  • IP/MAC: - In here IP and MAC addresses of the respective hosts can be registered.
  • The Remark: - is beneath the "Name" the second mapping and is also freely selectable.

Over the listing, two more fields are displayed. The column "Used" states how often a network is used in the "Network- /Host Groups" and the "add/edit rule:" sections.

The yellow pencil can be clicked to change the content of the entry.
The garbage can appears only when, as already mentioned above, the host is not yet in use, which prevents an accidental deletion of an entry.

All defined hosts can now be used over the source and destination menu in the "add/edit rule:" section, but can also be further processed over the Network|Host Groups".
